Vault on Vault

This project tries to take advantage of the facilities of traditional vaults by using new materials and techniques to create new spaces that are compatible with the client's desired plan and their required spaces.
This villa is designed for a family of 5 who have a traditional structure and their desire is to separate public and private spaces, moreover, each family member should have complete privacy in their room. This desire was realized through the creation of separated capsules for all spaces. Each of the capsules has a unique functional space and the remaining space between them is dedicated to circulation spaces. In fact, the capsules act like islands in an archipelago.
These capsules are structurally adapted from the traditional models of Iranian architecture, but in the design and construction of this new structure, existing materials and modern construction systems have been used. With the advent of advanced steel and concrete structures, new possibilities have been opened for further experiments, which provide the possibility of creating new and creative compositions in the architectural works with vaults and domes.
