Kourosh Rafiey graduated with a Master’s degree in Architecture in 1994 from Shahid Beheshti University, Tehran, Iran. His professional experience began with his collaboration with Asar Consultant Engineers as a lead designer from 1994 to 2012. He continued his career as a lead architect at Core Architects and HOK Architects in Toronto, Canada, from 2012 to 2013.

 

He founded his own design studio in 2006 and has since designed and completed numerous projects at different scales, many of which have received national and international awards. He was a nominee for the WAF (World ArchitectureFestival) Award in Barcelona in 2009 for the Amaj Darman project, received first place in the Architizer Award 2015, the Middle East Award for Sohanak Swimming Pool, and several prizes in the Memar Grand Award in Iran and the Iranian Interior Design Competition for his projects.

 

Rafiey’s academic role has included lecturing in Faculties of Architecture and supervising architectural theses in Tehran for many years. Since 2007, he has served as a jury member in national and international competitions and architectural committees, and writes for Memari va Sakhteman architectural magazine as an editor. His articles and projects have been featured in specialized publications such as AD Architectural Design, Memar, 2A, Sharestan, and others. Rafiey has actively participated in various meetings and conferences as a lecturer and has organized several congresses and professional events.
