Located in Tehran’s central crossroads, the new Plasco Tower replaces the former commercial complex destroyed by fire in 2016. The project comprises 15 stories above ground and five commercial floors below, with a dedicated memorial space for fallen firefighters spanning the ground and fifth floors.
The memorial is conceived as a continuous, spiraling path that connects the building’s levels and the arcade rooftop, transforming remembrance into a dynamic spatial experience. Visitors choose between the bustling commercial areas or the contemplative museum path, where light and openness evoke presence rather than nostalgia.
Suspended and undulating floors on the first five levels create a layered sense of instability, reflecting memory and loss. The design emphasizes movement and embodiment, prioritizing the experience of living memory over static display, and embedding reflection directly into the architectural form.
