DARYA

The Darya institutional–commercial complex is located on an urban plot in Tehran’s District 2, surrounded by wide streets and adjacent green space. Responding to its island-like condition, the project is conceived as a sculptural volume elevated on a dark platform. This raised base establishes a new urban ground, above which the main mass is suspended, creating a distinct spatial separation between city and building.
Carved from below, the volume reveals its internal depth to passersby, while a sequence of parallel lines deforms across plan, structure, and façade to generate a unified architectural language. At the center, a large vertical void anchors the project, drawing light and views into multiple levels and linking ground, interior, and sky. Material layering—stone, glass, and metal—reinforces the hierarchy between base, void, and floating form.
